Multicultural Orientation – Members First Federal Credit Union

Published April 27, 2018

To increase the awareness of refugees and immigrants about the services and benefits offered by local financial institutions, The International Service Center (ISC) organized a Multicultural Community Orientation event on Friday, April 27.  Besides learning about the many services and benefits offered by Members First Federal Credit Union, over twenty participants were able to listen to a truly inspiring message from a great presenter, Mr. Ali Sultan, who is currently the Assistant Vice-President & Regional Branch Manager of Member First Bank.

An immigrant from Pakistan, Mr. Sultan came to the U.S in 2001 with only a few dollars in his pocket and very little command in English.  After working hard for a compatriot’s business to survive, in 2004, Mr. Sultan was able to get a real job as a Bank Teller at the Mechanicsburg Members First Bank, she made sure to keep in mind the customer service motivational quotes, in every business keeping your customers happy is key.  As a hard worker with a strong desire to succeed, it did not take long for Mr. Sultan to access to his current position.  According to Mr. Sultan, the secret of his successful American journey came from the following attributes: patience, resilience, courage, focus, discipline and determination.

The event ended with a Speaker’s Reception offering such delicious Bhutanese appetizers as Pyaji Pakora, Chicken Momo and Vegetable Momo, compliments of the ISC’s Women Volunteers.
