A charity event titled “Party in the Park for Ukraine” was held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to support Ukraine during this difficult time of war. The event brought together local community members, volunteers, and supporters of Ukraine for an evening of solidarity and fundraising.

The main organizers of the event were dedicated volunteers and community activists Cathy Bodin and Jim Krut, who have continuously supported humanitarian initiatives for Ukraine. The purpose of the fundraiser was to collect donations for purchasing fabric and materials used to make camouflage netting, as well as to provide other essential supplies for Ukrainian soldiers, including medical aid, clothing, food, and humanitarian assistance.

The event included:

  • guest speakers and updates about the current situation in Ukraine;
  • a silent auction;
  • a bake sale featuring homemade Ukrainian recipes;
  • refreshments and community fellowship.

One of the featured speakers was Ivanna Mozil, Case Manager at the International Service Center and an active volunteer within the Ukrainian community. During her speech, Mrs. Ivanna shared her personal experience volunteering both in Ukraine and in the United States. She spoke about the urgent needs of Ukrainians affected by the war and emphasized the importance of continued international support.

Mrs. Ivanna also introduced the work of the International Service Center, highlighting the organization’s commitment to helping Ukrainian refugees resettle and adapt to life in the United States. She expressed her pride in being part of an organization that supports displaced families and provides hope during challenging times.

A significant part of the fundraising success came from the sale of homemade baked goods prepared using traditional Ukrainian recipes. Guests warmly supported the bake sale and showed great interest in Ukrainian culture and cuisine.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the strength of community, compassion, and international solidarity. Through the efforts of volunteers, supporters, and local organizations, events like “Party in the Park for Ukraine” continue to bring people together in support of peace, humanitarian relief, and hope for the future of Ukraine.
