On Friday, October 24, 2025, the International Service Center (ISC) had the honor of hosting representatives from Penn State Health for a special community health initiative. The event took place at the ISC office located at 21 South River Street, Harrisburg, PA, and was held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The purpose of this collaboration was to provide free flu vaccinations to everyone interested, including ISC clients, staff members, and local residents from the surrounding community.
Throughout the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to receive safe, high-quality flu vaccines administered by professional healthcare staff. The vaccination process was organized efficiently, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for all attendees. Importantly, no identification or insurance was required, which allowed many individuals — including those who might not otherwise have access to healthcare — to benefit from this valuable service.
The event emphasized the shared mission of both organizations: to promote community health, prevent illness, and ensure equal access to preventive care for all. It also helped raise awareness about the importance of seasonal flu protection, especially for families, children, and seniors. Many attendees expressed their gratitude for the friendly atmosphere, professional organization, and compassionate service provided.
Overall, this event was a clear demonstration of successful partnership and community engagement. The collaboration between Penn State Health and the International Service Center once again showed that collective efforts can make a real difference in improving public health and supporting the well-being of the diverse communities we serve.
