Session Type: Registration & Assessment
Date: March 11, 2026
Time: 8:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.
Location: Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St, Camp Hill, PA 17011

The program was coordinated through a collaboration between the Trinity Lutheran church and ISC (International Service Center). The main coordinators were Laura Butcher (English Language Learners Program Director from the church, Rakia Rasoli (Caseworker) from ISC, and Christine Filipovich (Volunteer Coordinator) from ISC. Together, they coordinated all aspects of the program, including student participation, transportation arrangements, and identifying participants who required childcare during the classes. The Spring 2026 ELL classes will officially run from March 18 to May 22, 2026, providing essential English language learning opportunities for refugee and immigrant community members.

As per the church’s request, ISC arranged volunteer interpreters from their staff in the following languages: Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Hindi, French, Creole, Spanish, and Ukrainian/Russian. The interpreters were Jamaludin Ahmadzai, Andres Vega, Zahra Sultani, Rakia Rasoli, Ivanna Mozil, Rhute Dumersier, and Kateryna Baraban. They assisted clients during registration, helped complete forms, and explained program rules, attendance policies, absence procedures, and other important steps.

The session started with a brief orientation for the interpreters to explain their roles and their section assignments. The interpreters were divided into two sections: one for adult registration and the other for the childcare section. From ISC, 18 clients were on the student list. On the day of registration, 13 new clients attended, and five returning students will join the first class on March 18, all with the support of volunteer drivers.

The session successfully ended with the registration of all students. Mrs. Laura Butcher and her team expressed heartfelt appreciation to the ISC team and volunteers, emphasizing that completing the registration would not have been possible without their support. A group photo was taken to commemorate the day.
